Covid Anxiety? Christmas is the Answer - Hope for the Holidaze

"Across the World, Covid Anxiety and Depression Take Hold" is a headline from today's NY Times (1). The recurring themes are anxiety, exhaustion, anger, panic, depression, loneliness, fatigue, distress. Government programs, expert predictions, and even vaccines all seem to disappoint.
Two thousand years ago, some shepherds were also terrified. But the message from a heavenly messenger turned their fear into faith (2).
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:9-12
Just like them, to fight fear, we need some good news. And only that baby, Jesus, is our answer for our fear, our great need in this hour.
